Signs Tripartite MOU with Raon Friends and Solarize to Jointly Develop BIPV Platform
Presents Private Sector–Led Energy Transition Model by Integrating Smart Inverters, Platforms, and Power Conversion Technologies
Highlights Competitiveness of ‘One-Stop Energy Solutions’ from Design to Construction, Supervision, and O&M
Hanbit Innotech (CEO Youngchul Lee) is accelerating the commercialization of intelligent inverter technology, advancing its efforts toward carbon neutrality and the expansion of distributed energy systems.
The company announced that on the 17th, it signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Raon Friends (CEO Jaehaeng Heo) and Solarize (CEO Youngjin Kim) at the Nongshim Hotel in Busan. The agreement focuses on the commercialization of intelligent inverter and platform technologies to expand building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV).
This partnership aims to respond to rapidly changing energy environments—such as mandatory zero-energy buildings and the expansion of distributed energy systems—while establishing a private sector–driven, high-efficiency, technology-based joint business model.
Under this agreement, Hanbit Innotech will be responsible for:
- Development and sales of MLPE (Module-Level Power Electronics)-based intelligent inverters and integrated platforms
- Joint development of hybrid inverter solutions
- Business planning and product sales utilizing power conversion technologies
Through these efforts, the company plans to enhance existing inverter technologies and expand the market applicability of smart energy solutions.
Prior to the signing ceremony, the three companies introduced their core technologies and strategies, sharing the expected synergies of collaboration. As a result, Solarize will lead smart inverter development, Raon Friends will handle the platform, and Hanbit Innotech will take charge of distribution, demonstration, and commercialization.
Solarize is currently developing high-efficiency power conversion systems equipped with AI-based power optimization algorithms and energy flow visualization technologies. Leveraging MLPE-based solutions, the company focuses on optimizing the performance of individual solar panels to enable distributed power systems.
Raon Friends, responsible for platform development, plans to provide solutions that maximize operational efficiency by enabling real-time diagnostics of building-level energy self-sufficiency. Its offerings include RE100-compliant energy management systems, virtual net metering (VNM)-based settlement platforms, and energy simulation tools.
Hanbit Innotech is emerging as a key partner driving demonstration and market expansion through this collaboration, based on its accumulated expertise in power conversion and solar solutions. Since its establishment in 2005, the company has developed a wide range of products, including photovoltaic systems, power grid analysis, diagnostics and inspection technologies, and power monitoring systems. It has also actively participated in government-supported programs such as the Korea Energy Agency’s building and housing support projects, industrial complex energy self-sufficiency initiatives, and R&D projects led by the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP).
Recently, Hanbit Innotech has been expanding its business scope into high value-added solutions, including BIPV, floating solar systems, integrated monitoring systems, and integrated platforms.
Building on this agreement, the three companies plan to expand cooperation into areas such as:
- Distributed energy grid interconnection impact analysis
- Carbon emissions measurement consulting
- Development of VNM-based market models
They will also pursue joint technology development and expansion into both domestic and global markets.
A representative from Hanbit Innotech stated,
“Energy efficiency and grid stability are key to future energy systems. By integrating solar power, inverters, and platforms, we aim to deliver a complete smart energy solution and further strengthen our global competitiveness.”
Meanwhile, this agreement will remain valid for three years from the signing date and will be automatically renewed on a yearly basis unless otherwise terminated.
